The main objective of this website is to disseminate information about its various activities to the public, and in particular to its principal stakeholders, the farmers. A strong information, documentation and publication support system will provide the foundation of an effective agriculture extension system. Today, three to four decades after the Green Revolution, there is an urgent need to revitalize and re-adapt the agricultural extension system to the changing needs and modern technology.
I hope this website will be informative, user-friendly and dynamic. The touchstone of a good website is the number of users accessing it and finding it useful. I am sure the Department will institutionalize a mechanism to keep it updated constantly and to make it a useful and vibrant platform for engagement with farmers and agriculture professionals.
