st for knowledge about the advanced happenings in the field of agriculture. In order to provide every farmer information on the latest developments in agriculture technology, social mass media is certainly the most effective method.
We are amidst a great transformation in agriculture extension and dissemination of information and knowledge. In the earlier era, the focus was on yield gains only. However, now, sustainability of the system is a major focus area. Rapid strides made in the field of information technology ensure that farmers have access to the latest innovations in real time. Punjab State has taken substantial steps towards diversification of agri produce in order to preserve depleting natural resources for the welfare of future generations.
Our website is an initiative of the Department of Agriculture to use the potential of Information Technology for the benefit of the farmers in the State. Through this, we aim to refocus the role of extension services to be a demand driven system with a practical orientation which farmers will find most useful.
