Cotton

Cotton is a second major crop in the kharif season and a major cash crop of the south-western districts of the State. During Kharif, 2015 a huge damage was caused by the white fly. To revive cotton during 2016, an action plan was prepared by the Department of Agriculture (DoA) with collaboration of Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana (PAU). As a result, State got a bumper crop with an average yield of 756 kg per ha. Same action plan will be repeated during Kharif-2017

The following schemes will be implemented for the development of Cotton during Kharif, 2017.
